With the help of Almighty God, the first issue of the Journal of Religious Thought was published in the autumn of 1999, following two years of dedicated effort. Since then, the journal has published four issues annually, each containing at least seven articles.

The Journal of Religious Thought continues to publish six articles electronically in each issue and welcomes scholarly submissions from authors and researchers in the fields of Islamic philosophy (Transcendent Philosophy, Peripatetic Philosophy, and Illuminationist Philosophy), Islamic theology (Shiism, Mu‘tazilism, and Ash‘arism), Islamic mysticism, comparative studies, and related areas within these specialized fields.
