About Journal

In the Name of God, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

To acquire insight concerning faith has been a long-lasting aspiration for the believers and a constant piece of advice offered by our infallible religious leaders. It is achieved through reflection and scrutiny in the exterior world as well as the human soul’s interior continent. It is indeed acquired by investigating the depth of revelatory disciplines and reflecting upon religion’s achievements. On the other hand, Shiraz has always been well-known as an abode of knowledge and a birthplace for philosophy, mysticism, literature, and ethics, introducing the most significant figures in the fields of philosophy, theology, and mysticism to the Muslim civilization. For this reason, to continue and consolidate these historical achievements, in collaboration with the Iranian Society for the Islamic Knowledge, the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Teachings at Shiraz University in Shiraz, as the Iranian cultural pole, aimed to publish The Quarterly Journal of Religious Thought [Andīshe-yi Dīnī].

After two years of constant endeavor, the Journal’s first issue was published in Fall 1999, and after four years of diligence, in 2003, it succeeded to be ranked as scientific & research-based by the Commission for the Evaluation of Journals at the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. Ever since the journal has been regularly published four times each year, and each issue has consisted of at least seven articles.

Currently, the Journal of Religious Thought publishes each issue’s articles electronically, and it continues to be active in the fields of Islamic mysticism, philosophy, theology, and comparative studies. The journal proudly welcomes the articles by authors and scholars in these areas of specialization.
