Ethical Codes of the Authors, Judges and the Journal (Editor, Editorial Board, Interior Director)

 

Shiraz University Quarterly Journal of Religious Thought  in order to maintain and expand the ethics of writing scientific articles and respecting the rights of researchers and authors of articles, in order to publish accurate and genuine scientific information, while considering ethical codes for the authors, has by the same token considered duties and ethical codes for judges and the journal (editor, editorial board and interior director);  These aforementioned codes follow the rules of the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

 

 

 

Authors, judges, editors, and editorial staff can visit the Committe on Publication Ethics website to learn more about the ethics and the journal charter.

 

 Ethical Codes and Commitments of Authors:

 

The article must be in the range of specialized field of the quarterly and the findings should be outcome of the author's ownself research.

 

Dissertation-based papers must be accompanied by the name of the supervisor or his/her written permission.

 

All authors must confirm their responsibility for the content of the article through signing the letter of commitment and adjecting it to the article.

 

Scientific honesty in writing findings and results is to be committed. Having the resources specified, any use of other resources must be mentioned.

 

The article or part of it should not have been previously published in any journal or collected articles of conference proceedings.

 

The content of the article must be original and observe all the principles related to plagiarism avoidance.

 

The article should not be submitted to multiple journals at the same time.  The author also has an ethical obligation not to submit the article to other journals until the status of the article is clarified in this quarterly.

 

Deleting, adding or changing the order of the authors' names and responsible author for correspondence is not allowed after final acceptance  except with the written letter signed by all authors and the approval of the editorial board.

 

To ensure the confidentiality of the evaluation process, the author (s) should refrain from writing anything that identifies them.

 

The author should avoid any racial, ethnic, gender or political discrimination in his article.

 

 

Ethical Codes of the Judges:

 

If the subject of the article does not fit with the expertise of the judge,she/he should avoid judging.

 

Operating speed in announcing the acceptance of arbitration and then conducting arbitration at the due time specified by the journal.

 

Fair and documentized judgment as well as accurate, constructive and honest evaluation.

 

Paying close attention towards references and other attachments.

 

Obligant to keep confidential the information of the article.

 

Observing the ethical principles in announcing viewpoints (avoiding the use of immoral and impolite words and phrases).

 

Without the permission of the quarterly editor, the article should not be provided to others for judgment.

 

 

Ethical Codes of the Journal:

 

The editor and the editorial board should focus on maintaining the publication and improving its quality.

 

Determining qualified judges according to their specialized field related to the subject of the article.

 

Respect the copyright and adaptation of other literary works as well as the rights of authors during publication.

 

Observing onfidentiality of authors' personal information as well as registrating and archiving refereed documents for a certain time span .

 

Conducting fair decisions about articles regardless of the authors' race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, and political beliefs; merely the scientific quality of the article is to be taken into account.

 

Committed to review and making decision to all articles within the specified time.

 

Timely issuance of acceptance certificate and publication of articles after completing all the judging steps based on the article's final acceptance date.

 

Evaluate articles in the absence of informing the judges on the authors' details and the anonymity of the judges by the authors.

Collecting the opinions of the authors, readers and judges of the journal on the continuous improvement of the publishing policies, the quality of the form and content of the journal.

 

The quarterly is free to reject or accept, edit, summarize or modify all the received articles.
