Abstract

The prevailing theological view believes in God's direct agency in the occurrence of supernatural events, and the philosophers' view is that of the direct involvement of sacred souls in this downward process. However, less attention has been paid to the possible role of natural perceptible interventions in these events. This article uses a descriptive-analytical method to answer the question: According to Sadra'i's wisdom, what role can dimension of Materially Perceptible Interventions play in the occurrence of the supernatural? From a substantive perspective, the direct agency of the supernatural is based on the perfection of the soul's perceptual level. Therefore, external natural interventions interfere with the occurrence of the supernatural by affecting the soul, either by necessity or by creation. From an existential perspective, the simplicity and containment of the soul weakens the role of interventions, so that with the gradational unity of the soul, their effect is reduced to creating external capacity. And in Mulla Sadra's final view, namely the unity of the personality of the soul, its place is limited to removing cognitive obstacles to recognizing and accepting the supernatural. The result is that the effect of Materially Perceptible interventions has been proven to be a subject whose type and extent of intervention is directly dependent on philosophical psychology.
