Abstract

Like Ibn Sina, Rajab-Ali Tabrizi emphasized the connection of the mind with the object. As a New-Peripatetic sage who greatly improved the Neo-Peripatetic rules and literature to evaluate his contemporaries' new opinions, among other things, he believed in the harmony between “common linguistic structures” and rational topics. One of the important elements of this theory in Tabrizi's teachings is the denial of “conventional realities” in philosophy. The present research explains Hakim Tabrizi's point of view on the issue of inferring ontological bases from linguistics and the importance of evaluating the reasons and problems related to them. The method used in this research combines explanation and critical analysis. The research findings show that Tabrizi's point of view about the use of common language structures in the framework of his thinking cannot be refuted, and at least it is acceptable as a basic principle in Tabrizi's Neo-Peripatetic school. Also, his remarkable analysis of the meaning of self-restraint is very important. However, the limits and loopholes of his view in negating conventional concepts are ambiguous because he needed to differentiate between philosophical second-order reasoning and logical second-order reasoning.
