Journal Article 2025 09 02 <strong>The theory of “Tajaddod al-Amthāl” (Renewal of Exemplars) in theoretical mysticism is proposed as an explanation for continuous creation and perpetual change in the cosmos. However, from a metaphysical standpoint, it faces a fundamental challenge regarding the absence of “personal identity” and “ontological identity.” This study, through a comparative analysis of various interpretations of Tajaddod al-Amthāl—including extended substantial motion, non-extended substantial motion, and sudden change (coming-into-being and perishing)—reveals that each of these interpretations is accompanied by a crisis of metaphysical identity. Moreover, the solutions proposed by mystics, such as the concept of “nafs-e rahmānī as the fixed substance of the world” and the “fixed essence”, intended to preserve substantial stability against apparent (accidental) changes, are, according to this study, inadequate and fail to fully address the fundamental issue of maintaining personal and ontological identity. The findings indicate that various interpretations of Tajaddod al-Amthāl all fall short in preserving personal and ontological identity, and the only defensible form is non-extended substantial motion, which, despite its high explanatory potential, still necessitates more precise metaphysical clarification. Using an analytical–descriptive approach, this study aims to resolve philosophical and epistemological ambiguities associated with the theory of Tajaddod al-Amthāl and contributes to a more cohesive and precise understanding of it within the tradition of Islamic mysticism and philosophy.</strong> نظریۀ «تجدد امثال» در عرفان نظری به‌عنوان تبیینی از خلق دائم و تغییر مستمر در عالم مطرح شده است؛ اما به‌لحاظ متافیزیکی با چالشِ اساسی فقدان «این‌همانی شخصی» و «این‌همانی وجودی» مواجه است. این پژوهش با تحلیل تطبیقی تفاسیر مختلفِ تجدد امثال، شامل حرکت جوهری امتدادی، حرکت غیرامتدادی و تغییر دفعی، نشان می‌دهد که هریک از این تفسیرها با بحران فقدان این‌همانیِ متافیزیکی همراه است. همچنین، راه‌حل‌های پیشنهادی عارفان، ازجمله مفهوم «نفَس رحمانی، به‌مثابۀ جوهر ثابت عالم» و «عین ثابت» که به‌منظور حفظ ثبات جوهری در برابر تغییرات ظاهری (عرضی) ارائه شده‌اند، ازنظر این پژوهش ناکافی بوده و نتوانسته‌اند مسألۀ بنیادین حفظ هویت شخصی و وجودی را به‌طور کامل پاسخ دهند. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که تفسیرهای مختلف تجدد امثال، همگی در حفظ این‌همانی شخصی و وجودی ناکام‌اند، و تنها صورت قابل‌دفاع آن، حرکت جوهری غیرامتدادی است که با وجود ظرفیت تبیینی بالا، هنوز نیازمند تبیین‌های متافیزیکی دقیق‌تر است. این پژوهش با روش تحلیلی ـ توصیفی به‌منظور رفع ابهامات فلسفی و معرفت‌شناختی مرتبط با نظریۀ تجدد امثال، گامی درجهت تقویت فهم منسجم و دقیق‌تر آن در سنت عرفان و فلسفه اسلامی برداشته است. https://jrt.shirazu.ac.ir/article_8605_d458a9218e9e2aec1bda0ec6da5a7a67.pdf
